Usher Wins Custody Battle Over His Two Sons

After almost two years of being in a heated custody battle with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond, Usher has something to celebrate. The singer was awarded primary custody of his two sons with Tameka.

It is something you don’t see very often, a father being granted primary custody of his children. However in the case of Usher it is a reality and music to his ears. A judge ruled that the singer will be the be the primary care taker for Usher Raymond V age 4, and Naviyd Ely Raymond age 3. The new arrangement will officially begin on September 1st. An Atlanta judge made the decision on Friday that also gave Tameka visitation rights to the boys. Details of her visitation have not been shared with the public.

Losing the custody battle with Usher is yet another blow to Tameka who lost her 11 year old son last month after he was injured in a boating accident. Kile Glover was eventually declared brain dead and taken off life support. During that tragic time although there were reports Usher was there for his ex it was still a very unpleasant time between the former spouses. Tameka had some harsh words for Usher after her son died.

Usher and Tameka wed back in 2007 and divorced two years later. Ever sine their break-up it has been non stop mudslinging and bad mouthing between the two. From her calling him an absentee father to him saying she can’t bond with their children. It has been a war of words between these two. Something tells me that the judge’s decision isn’t going to make these ex’s any friendlier. In fact I have a feeling the messiness is just beginning, those poor boys. I hate when parents can’t put their differences aside for the sake of the kids, so selfish.

As for what led the judge to his decision, well that remains between the couple and the court.  It was a good day for Usher yesterday; he won the custody battle for his children.
