Joe Simpson Charged With 2 Counts Of DUI

Joe Simpson, the 54-year-old father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, was arrested on Aug. 4 in Sherman Oaks, California for driving under the influence and has now been formally charged with 2 counts of DUI.

Simpson was found to be intoxicated when he was pulled him over on Ventura Boulevard around 10 p.m. and arrested him on the scene. Joe’s blood alcohol was .12, well over the legal limit of .08.

An LAPD spokesperson revealed, “He was detained overnight at Valley jail in Van Nuys before being released at 9:40 a.m. on August 5 after posting $5,000 bail.”

If Simpson is convicted on both counts, he could face a $1,000 fine and up to 36 months probation.

He is scheduled for arraignment on August 30.

There are rumors Joe and his wife Tina are having problems in their marriage and considering a legal separation.
