English recording artist/ singer-songwriter Lily Allen has announced that she is back in the studio and working on new music with producer Greg Krustin, after a three-year hiatus since the release of her 2009 album, It’s Not Me, It’s You.
The announcement took place on Twitter, wherein Allen stated that “You will be pleased to know that i am currently in the f****** studio with @GregKurstin.” The announcement came in response to the music website PopJustice taking a shot at Allen about her lack of new music in the wake of her announcement that she enjoyed the new Kate Nash song.
Allen was quick to follow up, however, with her being was in the studio was “no big deal really, im just throwing s*** at the wall and seeing if anything sticks.”
Allen’s last blast of new music came in 2009 with the release of her second record, It’s Note Me, It’s You (also produced by Greg Kurstin); after which Allen announced she was taking a break from the music industry.
In the interim, Allen has given birth to her first child, opened a fashion rental shop with her sister, and just last year she started her own record label (In the Name Of) and signed Brooklyn up and comers, Cults.
So could this be the beginning of a new Lily Allen record? Stay tuned for more news as it happens.
