Katie Holmes kept her own outfit simple for the fashion show for her line, Holmes & Yang. Katie may have opted for simple black slacks, a blouse, and a jacket, but she added a bit of sparkle with her flats! Katie reportedly was very hands-on backstage while getting the models ready. Katie told the New York Daily News:
“I love the off-the-shoulder spider mum dress because it’s very feminine. Some of the leather pieces are pretty great, too.”
Rather than having the models show off the designs on a catwalk, the models stood on blocks so people could walk around them. An insider explained the thinking behind how the show was set up:
“[Katie] wanted to keep it small and intimate. They didn’t invite any celebrities.”
So what was the reaction to ‘Holmes & Yang’?
“I feel like it’s still starting to grow,” said one buyer. “It’s a very new collection. It’s a good start, though, and this was their first presentation.”
Others tweeted their takes, like Glamour executive fashion director Anne Christensen, who gushed, “Great separates at Holmes & Yang! Esp loved the navy motorcycle jacket.”
Sounds like Katie and her partner, Jeanne Yang, are off to a good start!
