Opening up about her career and recent work, Jessica Chastain was the guest of honor at Monday night's (September 10) TimesTalk at The TimesCenter in New York City.
While donning a gorgeous red dress, the “Lawless” actress talked to host Charles McGrath about her Broadway debut this fall in a new production of the Tony Award-winning play “The Heiress.”
In a recent interview with the New York Times, the 35-year-old talked about her career saying, "“I’ve always made really strange choices, maybe because no one told me otherwise."
Miss Chastain also dished on her first audition using a near-pornographic version of Juliet’s “Gallop apace” soliloquy, explaining, “I thought the language was very sexual, so I was like ‘Come, gentle night, come, loving, black-brow’d night, give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, take him.’ And it ended with me rolling around on the ground. I think it was probably pretty shocking.” She recalled that Michael Kahn — one of Juilliard’s renowned teachers — turned to her and said, “Jessica, did you have fun?”
